The latest plot by Microsoft to control the video game market is dubbed Xbox Play Anywhere. It’s an ambitious plan that is designed to allow Windows 11/10 gamers and Xbox gamers to play alongside each other. Not only that, supported games can be played across both platforms. Should the player purchase an Xbox Play Anywhere title from the Windows Store, he or she can simply download the same game from the Xbox One without having to pay for it all over again. Furthermore, game saves cross over between platforms, so players can continue from where they left.

Xbox Play Anywhere video games

With all this in mind, we’d love to talk about the top four Xbox Play Anywhere video game available right now for purchase.

1. Forza Horizon 3

We’ve played every Forza Horizon title, but we have to say, the third in the series is probably the best. Heck, Forza Horizon 3 is such an excellent game, we can’t help but say it’s much better than the primary series. The new game is set in the Australian outback, and here the player has the option to play with up to 350 cars. It’s the most cars we’ve seen in an open world racing game, and the largest map as well. Not to mention, both Windows 11/10 and Xbox One players can get together in multiplayer via Xbox Live. Game available right now via the Windows Store.

2. Gears of War 4

The Gears of War franchise is one of the most successful, but things took an unfortunate turn after Gears of War 3. However, the title returned to awesomeness with Gears of War 4, and we’re here looking forward to the fifth installment. Here’s the thing, the new game takes place in the future where Marcus Felix is an old man, and his son is the primary character. The game is very co-op and multiplayer focused, and unlike Halo 5: Guardians, it works. Game available right now via the Windows Store.

3. Resident Evil 7

Capcom appears to have returned to winning ways with Resident Evil 7 after the company made a huge blunder with Resident Evil 6. The game is more about horror rather than a plethora of action we’ve seen being slowly injected into the Resident Evil series over the years. It should be noted that the new game is designed to be a first-person video game from start to finish, which is something we’ve never seen before with the Resident Evil games of old. Furthermore, this game is the most high profile third-party title to support Xbox Play Anywhere. We hope to see more in the coming months as Microsoft prepares to launch Project Scorpio. Game available right now via the Windows Store.

4. Spheroids

Not everyone is talking about Spheroids, a game that is a lot of fun and much different when compared to the others on this list. It’s a platformer for starters, and the lead character is Canadian, something we don’t see every day. The game is about a boy name Lucas who sets out on an adventure with his scientist friend, Otto. The idea here is to save the planet from aliens after discovering that the government has located alternate universes. Game available right now via the Windows Store.

5. Riptide GP: Renegade

If you’re looking for a high-adrenaline racer, then Riptide GP: Renegade could be the very thing you’re looking for. The game requires the player to perform incredible stunts along with coming first in a race to gain the ultimate prize. The player races by means of what is called a hydrojet, and to give an idea of how dangerous these races can be, the player is clad in armor. It’s only $9.99 via the Windows Store and Xbox Store, so there’s not much to lose here. The game is available right now via the Windows Store.
